THE RICE TESTIFIES

Just recently Michael and I watched a program on GODTV where a minister shared how the power of the written word was proven through a spiritual experiment made in 2000 using two identical jars of cooked rice. A small equal amount of cooked organic rice was placed in each lid covered jar. The only difference in the two jars were the words written on a piece of paper and taped to the outside of each jar. The note on one jar included words such as I love you, you are good rice, you will live a long time, etc. The note on the second jar contained words such as I hate you, you are bad rice, you will die. After 81 days the experiment concluded with visual proof of the power of the written word. The jar with the positive words of life contained white rice that had barely changed in appearance at all. The jar with the negative words of death contained rice that had completely turned into ugly black growths that had multiplied in size!

"Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates."

I took photos of our TV screen when we watched this minister share on this truth so that I could share it on this BLOG. The photos have escaped me ... are we surprised? So, I went online looking for this particular story and found several other YOUTUBE videos of others around the world who also did the same experiment with the same results! I have used one of their photos instead.

It is well worth our time to hear this and to apply it to our lives. The words, thoughts, and things we have actually written have the power to change circumstances and even lives!!!!! Consider this message and allow the Lord to do a "heart check" on the issues of your heart. Ask yourself, "What am I speaking, thinking, and even writing, that could be affecting the outcome of the circumstances of my life?" Know that you could change a life, many lives, leadership of a nation, or even nation as a whole, by what we could positively declare this day!!

FIRE IN THE HEART OF TEXAS

Back in 2002 a close minister friend who I served with on the first THE CALL intercession team, and who also teaches on intercession, asked me to travel with her to Killeen as she was invited to speak at the Women's Aglow International meeting there. Women's Aglow International is just that .... an international organization of Women who gather to pray and intercede. She asked me to share a testimony of how my grandson, Noah, nearly lost his life while I was on this intercession team. (Noah was in ICU .... could barely breathe.... age 3 at the time) One of the leaders of the group was a local TV reporter who hosted us in her beautiful home overnight. It was a trip I will never forget. When we rose the next morning we sat on the upstairs balcony of her home that overlooked the countryside around Killeen and Ft. Hood. Amazingly, I felt as if I were looking at ISRAEL and even commented on it!! She told me that I was not the first to make that comment. Before we left that last day, the leader of intercession for the AGLOW group arrived and the 4 of us worshipped together, prayed over the Killeen area, blew shofars together and more. Mighty mighty morning!!!

The following November 2002 I was prophesied over by a couple at a Prophetic Conference in North Dallas .... "the time had come that the Lord is giving you a GREEN light to go forward in ministry" .... there was more spoken. Three months later in February 2003 I received a "sudden call" from the Program Chairman of this Aglow Chapter asking if I would come and be the guest speaker for the Aglow group......her last name ... GREEN!!! I knew it was a sign from the Lord as He uses the color green to speak to me, "Go Forth"!  This was my first public speaking assignment. I was to minister to this group that intercedes and prays for the area that houses the "largest deployer of soldiers in the world"!! The following week I received a call from the WACO chapter of Women's Aglow asking that I come and speak at their evening meeting and also at the luncheon meeting the following day in May 2003.

Why am I sharing this? When I was asked to speak at these two central Texas towns I discovered they were both in the "HEART OF TEXAS" Regional Women's Aglow organization, which is located in an area of Texas commonly known as "H.O.T." ... the "Heart of Texas".

In February 2009 I was invited to speak in the Sunday morning service of a small church near Lake Whitney, just west of West, Texas. Once again, this area is part of the HEART OF TEXAS region. At the end of the service I stood before their small congregation, placed a red/orange/yellow "prophetic HOLY FIRE Jewish scarf" around my neck and spoke to them, "The Lord told me that I was to stand here before you as a SIGN that FIRE was coming to the Heart of Texas!" I really did not totally understand what the Lord intended by my doing that, but I did it anyway.

When Michael and I returned home that afternoon I received a phone call from a close prophetic friend in McKinney, the one who had given me the "fire scarf" as a birthday gift several years back, asking if I had seen the news of what happened that day. No. She went on to say that a "FIREBALL" had fallen in Texas and was seen by those as far away as the Dallas/Fort Worth area ... all the way down to Austin ... in daylight!!! This story was covered on National TV networks that Sunday evening and the following day as well. When they pinpointed the location this FIREBALL hit the earth we discovered the actual location was about 15 miles from where I was speaking during the same hour that it hit ... in the "HEART OF TEXAS"!!!

I do believe there may be a connection in all of the above and with the "horrific tragedy" we are all witnessing right now at Ft. Hood in Killeen, Texas. This is the base that my husband, Michael, processed out of when he retired from the military in 1997. I believe we were in that actual building where this crime took place yesterday afternoon.

The FIRE of this incident yesterday is a sign of what the Lord is wanting to do with the "Heart of Texas" .... there is a shaking going on in the largest state in our country ... at a military base nestled in the countryside of Texas that looks so similar to the area around Jerusalem ... a shaking that may very well mirror a shaking coming to Israel as well!

We all need to pray for Fort Hood, the physical and spiritual "Heart of Texas and that of the United States", and also for our beloved Israel!!  May our prayer be ... the "FIRE in the HEART OF TEXAS be a "prophetic sign" that each individual's heart in the HEART OF TEXAS, the HEART OF OUR NATION, and ISRAEL ... WILL BE ON FIRE FOR HIM ... JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD!"

Change My Heart First, Oh God

CHANGE … we have all suddenly realized this word is the word of the hour over our country! How many of us are being shaken to the core over what we are seeing and realizing as our country seems to be spiraling out of control under its new leadership. I, for one, have experienced the overwhelming sense of hopelessness and fear in the midst of these ongoing changes before us.

Several weeks back the Holy Spirit began to speak to me very quietly about the sin of our words against the leader(s) who were elected to lead our country. I knew I needed to repent for my own attitude and spoken word. To be quite frank with you, I really didn’t want to. I felt justified in “calling it like I see it!!" I knew I was found guilty, but I did not want to turn as I almost felt like a traitor to the cause of speaking up against wrong doing!

Well, the time has come now to “confess my sin and turn from my wicked ways” … the Holy Spirit has gently but surely moved upon me to follow through with HIS way of confessing my sin and turning back to what HE has called all Believers to do … to honor and bless our leaders with the words of our mouths!  These leaders are not only those in governmental offices, but those who are over us spiritually ... apostles, pastors, and the leaders in the Church.

Our leaders are the ones our country has been allowed by God to rule over us. Whether we like it or not, we MUST turn our words from cursing to blessing, by praying that the Lord will “turn the heart of the king”. I do believe we, the Church, HOLD THE KEY TO BREAKTHROUGH FOUND IN THE WORD OF GOD and when we begin to do this … we will see the REAL CHANGE come about "first in our own hearts … and then the heart of the king” … as we trust our country into the hands of our Almighty God as HE will be the one to answer the cry of our hearts to bring this country back to HIM!

Hot Air Rising

When I heard the horrifying news report about the child in the hot air balloon in Colorado this week I had an immediate sense in my spirit that the Lord was giving a visual picture of a larger spiritual issue over our country … one in which the media is "blowing out of proportion” situations that have everyone watching in fear and trepidation. Storm chasing nuts are conjuring up stories for purposes of instilling hype, fear, and a lack of GOD WATCHING AND LISTENING TO!! We as a nation are watching and buying off on the news … a lot of “HOT AIR” is being released with the intent to draw our focus away from the more serious issues at hand in our nation.

I can give one example. Last Spring when the Swine flu was making its debut, and many schools were closing as a result, we experienced a lot of “crying wolf” due to the few who did actually come down sick. It was also announced that in the Fall of 2009 we would experience a worldwide flu pandemic. Initially, I could sense the fear that tried to come upon me. Note, I said initially. Then, it struck me that we should NOT be receiving a negative report of this sort and we should be standing against it!! This is part of the enemy’s assignment to get our focus off of WHO OUR GOD IS rather than the enemy who is instilling fear in the hearts of our nation. Many of us have come into agreement with these bad reports.

Yesterday my mother’s doctor told us that he will NOT be taking the swine vaccine (H1N1) himself. He said that symptoms of this strain of flu are mild in comparison with the regular flu and he is not suggesting this vaccine at all for his elderly patients like my Mom, yet, he would himself take the regular flu shot as it is a much more dangerous flu strain than that of the swine flu. He said numbers being magnified through the media today of those dying from this deadly swine flu is nothing in comparison to the 37,000 who died last year from the regular flu. He also commented that he felt there was too little time in the preparation of the vaccine.

We need to stop chasing the many hot air balloon reports that the media and our government are issuing for their own purposes to instill fear and to gain ultimate control over our lives … turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace!!

HARPING DELIVERANCE

This week I read in I Samuel 16 how Samuel anointed David and how the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and a distressing spirit FROM THE LORD troubled Saul.

“Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah. But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him.”

1 Samuel 16:13, 14

It was suggested to Saul, and Saul followed through on the suggestion, that he bring in David, the son of Jesse, a Bethlehemite, and a young harpist, to play so that the spirit that troubled him would leave. Saul loved David and David became his armor bearer. I am skipping over quickly … David approached Saul and offered to kill the Philistine giant, Goliath. He did. David cut the head of Goliath off and took it to Saul. Saul "DID NOT RECOGNIZE HIM"!!! Saul asked who he was and whose son he was.

“So the king said, “Inquire whose son this young man is.” Then, as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand. And Saul said to him, “Whose son are you, young man?” So David answered, “I am the son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.”

1 Samuel 17:56-58

That hit me hard!!! WHY would Saul not recognize the one he loved, the one who was his very own armor bearer? May I suggest that his problem in remembering David may have been dementia or Alzheimers. It was the Lord's doing to put that spirit on Saul and perhaps that is the reason some are unable to cast spirits out … because the spirit is there by the hand of God! What I read was that WORSHIP is key to breakthrough on this “distressing spirit”. If this “distressing spirit” could possibly represent dementia or Alzheimers, could WORSHIP be key to breakthrough today with these diseases?? That is what David did … he played the harp and the distressing spirit would depart from Saul!!

Going back perhaps 10 years I can remember the time when a couple from our church, friends of ours, whose adult daughter I had also become friends with, was in a sleep type coma for approximately 3 days. I offered to sit with her at the hospital so her Mom could leave, clean up, and get some things done. I felt the leading to take a CD player with me to play WORSHIP music, turn the loud nonstop TV off, and read scriptures while I sat with her. After an hour or two of worship music and the Word being spoken quietly in her room …. she woke up!!!!!!!! Not only that she wanted to eat and she wanted to walk downstairs, pulling her IV tree alongside!! She had Crohn's disease and later passed away.

Pondering:

* Perhaps we could test this theory by playing continuous worship music, harp music specifically, as Michael has mentioned to me. Just maybe we too would witness the power of worship that very well could bring breakthrough for the dementia or Alzheimer patient!!

* If this theory is correct - take a look at the sins of Saul – are similar sins today behind dementia and Alzheimers.

* I wonder if the distressing spirit could be the same “tormenting spirit” that we are turned over to when we refuse to forgive?

The Father Ran On 09/09/09

If I could plan it so, I would program the PLAYLIST at the bottom of this BLOG to play song #9, “When God Ran”, a song that came my way just this past week. Normally, when I add a new song, it moves to the bottom of the list. For some odd reason I moved it up further to the top of the PLAYLIST not knowing why I did that at the time. Today I know. It was moved into the #9 slot as it connects and confirms what the Holy Spirit is speaking regarding today’s special "triple 9 date". Yesterday morning the Lord began to stir in me to share on the blog what He opened my eyes to regarding today’s significant date … 9/9/09. First, I searched for the meaning of the number 9. Several of my books on symbolism noted that this number is the number of the Holy Spirit (9 fruits of the Spirit – Galatians 5:22-23; 9 gifts of the Spirit – 1 Corinthians 12:8-11).

Next, I did what I usually do when searching for “the Lord’s take” on any number … I head to the scriptures and search books, chapters, and verses until my spirit is quickened by Him that I have found what He sent me on my search to find! With a date like 9/9/09 there was only one possibility that would line up with this special date. It was Psalm 99:9. I believe this scripture connects to this day prophetically.

Psalm 99:9 “Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy.”



Psalm 99 is a chapter focused on God’s holiness and an attribute He calls us all to in our lives. Please note that this chapter has 9 verses only. Number 9 is definitely speaking today.

I have for some time now prayed for the “lost sheep and prodigals” to come home to the Father. As I have prayed I continually remind the Father about His Word in Luke … how He will leave the 99 sheep to go find the one that is lost and entangled in the world somewhere. And there in the same chapter we find how when the prodigal son came to himself and turned from his wild living back to the Father, THE FATHER RAN TO HIS SON WHILE HE WAS STILL FAR OFF!! I know He hears my prayer and I thank Him for answering my request before it comes to fruition.

Luke 15:4 “What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?”

Luke 15:20 “And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”

Yesterday as the Holy Spirit began to move in my spirit regarding the lost sheep, the prodigals, and the number 99 in Psalms 99, I also read Chapter 100 that followed. What a powerful chapter on “God’s faithfulness” that is familiar to anyone who has spent much time in the Word or listening at Church. Verse 3 jumped off the pages …

Psalm 100: 3 “Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.”

There it is … a connection with His people being “sheep” just as was mentioned in Luke and more confirmation to me as I listened to the Holy Spirit connect the dots regarding my heart’s cry towards those who have gone astray and His stirring over this very prophetic day.



As I normally do, I shared each of these points with Michael and his immediate thought was, “Linda, have you thought to check out the 9th book in the Bible, 9th Chapter, 9th verse?” No, I had not. I counted the books and the 9th book is 1 Samuel. So, 1 Samuel 9:9 would be the scripture for us to find.



1 Samuel 9:9 “Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.”

Both Michael and I found this scripture so very interesting as we know one way the Lord uses us in ministry is through a “seer gifting” … hearing God through what we are seeing in the natural and in the Spirit.

Today we are seeing 9/9/09 symbolically and prophetically as a day that “the Lord is calling His people to a pathway of holiness, and in so doing, He is also issuing through this blog encouragement to those of us praying for the prodigals to come home and that the Father has left the 99 to find that one lost sheep.” AMEN and AMEN!!

Lastly, you might find the following information interesting on the number 9.

The sum of the digits which form 9 are always a multiple of 9.

EXAMPLE: 2x9=18 (1+8=9); 3x9=27 (2+7=9); 4x9=36 (3+6=9), and so on.

It is also true of larger numbers.

As those beloved prodigals take that first step back … we all shall rejoice as the Father runs to welcome his children back home again!

Together We Can!!

Today my precious Michael forwarded a heroes video to me that he received from one of his military buddies. (the link to this video is below ... please take a moment to watch and listen. Ten Tenors perform.) The photo of the American soldiers raising the flag at Iwo Jima in 1945 (seen above) particularly moved my spirit. I saw the American soldiers, who symbolize you and me, soldiers of the cross, drafted into God's Army. I saw each of us joining together in prayer as we raise up God's standard over this nation that HE is GOD and HE has the final word if this nation is to stand. Our dear American flag with its stars and stripes boldly declare the freedom and liberty our soldiers have fought hard to protect. Many of our loved ones and friends lives have been sown into the soil of nations abroad to preserve what this flag represents! "Old Glory" symbolizes the same standard we are fighting for that will protect our rights and freedom to worship Him. Let's join together in prayer and ask for our Father's intervention in the affairs of our nation's future. Let's fight the good fight in the spirit. The battle can be won!!

DOVE WARNING

Last night around 10:30 p.m., as I laid my head down on the pillow, I had a peculiar thought. “What would be my response in the night if an out of control car came off the street and hit the other end of our house?” In my mind I walked through the initial steps I would take: I would put my clothes on quickly, making sure to have them ready ahead of time before going to bed, and then I would put on good shoes, as who knows what is lurking in the night out in our front yard. I fell asleep.

This morning when Michael woke up he told me what happened at 11:15 p.m., shortly after we had gone to bed and fallen asleep. He was suddenly awakened by a loud explosion. He looked over to see that it had not disturbed me (my earplugs worked!) He got up out of bed to check outside to see if “something had hit our house”!! He saw nothing.

I do NOT believe this is a coincidence for two people with a “HEARING EYES” ministry!!! I believe the Lord is issuing a WARNING to BE READY AHEAD OF TIME for a SUDDEN EXPLOSION!! We are pondering now as to what this may mean specifically. Is this regarding the HOUSE OF GOD … the CHURCH? Is it a physical or spiritual explosion? Is this occurrence lining up with the recent prophetic words passing through email that our country may experience a horrific earthquake as a result of our government’s dealings with Israel dividing the land? We are not sure. What we are sure of is that Holy Spirit is speaking to and waking up the “sleeping warriors” .. and He may use something BIG and LOUD to accomplish it!

Several days ago as I walked through the front door of our home to check our mailbox I was startled to see a small dove at our front door looking up at me with no fear of me whatsoever! As I began to speak I had an attentive audience of one beautiful gray dove! I opened the door and called for Michael to come quickly! The dove did not budge. He joined me outside and felt he might pick the dove up into his hands in order to take it to our backyard to protect it from the prowling neighborhood cats that daily walk the perimeter of our home! As he reached down the dove hopped across the sidewalk and landed into the other flowerbed looking up at me still. I was totally captivated as I knew the dove was symbolic of the Holy Spirit and I knew that the Lord was speaking through this dove of “what is at the door of the house” (the church and/or our own lives) … a new Holy Spirit move is at the door! We did wonder whether the small dove was injured or if it had not learned to fly yet.

Yesterday morning Michael was working on the front side of our home doing a few paint touchups when I approached him to check on his progress. As I stood there I noticed something moving in the flowerbed between the two of us … it was our small dove! As my attention was drawn once again to its presence it shot up into the neighbor’s tree!! That young dove was certainly not injured!!

With these two occurrences of the dove’s presence and the unusual explosion warning I know we are to rest in knowing “whatever is coming our way, we need to prepare now, be ready, and know that the Holy Spirit is right here to do what HE does best … give us peace and rest, instruct, lead, comfort, give direction, wisdom, revelation, or anything else that we have need of as we, the Church, will rest in Him and we will be ready to help in the time of trouble.”

A final word … it is my hope and prayer that these prophetic moments symbolize “the move of God coming to the Church that will wake up sleeping warriors while knocking down dividing walls!! We will see as we go forward! However, take note … the dove you see in the picture above is a photo I took of another “up close and personal dove in New Orleans … perched on our rental car trunk lid … one week prior to Katrina”!!

Ephesians 6:10-20
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[c] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

The Devourer in our Midst

Two months ago I had two nights of “snake dreams”. I believe there is a message for the Church at large through these dreams. I am sharing them as a WARNING.

4/8/09 – Dream – A large python snake was in the house. It must have been someone’s pet. I did NOT want to sleep while it was there. I seemed to be the only one concerned.

4/10/09 – Dream – (3 snakes) I am sitting in the driver seat of my car and I see an anaconda snake through the front windshield as it swallows whole another snake (this anaconda can eat a human whole). While sitting in the car there is a small opening in the driver’s window – perhaps 2 inches. The car is idle – not moving. Another snake tries to come through the window. I panic in fear while trying to stuff a towel into the opening to prevent the snake from entering the car. It is in my face. While stuffing the towel I am putting the car key into the ignition to turn on the power to roll the window up. As I press the window button to raise it I catch the snake and stop it. It is stuck in the window. The last scene I am walking along with a friend who is on my right. A small snake grabs onto my right foot. My friend takes a stick type object and forced the snake off of me. While all of this is going on in the dream I have a thought that there are snakes everywhere!!

Although I will share a few points of interpretation here I do not by any means believe I have the full picture. The Lord may very well speak something to each of us. I do believe it is a warning to me personally, however, it is to you as well. Remember that in my dreams I do represent the Church. So, we need to hear what the Spirit of God is saying through this warning, heed, pray and prepare for what has been unleashed upon the Church, while knowing our Lord has the final say.

Python = divination, passivity, lethargy, complacency.
Snakes = curse, deception, threat, danger, hatred, slander, critical spirit, and witchcraft.

The first dream of the python shows the activity of the enemy within the Church to accept “church as is”. I was most uncomfortable with what seemed to be acceptable to others. I would not rest while it is there, even if I have to stand alone against what I saw. THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE we are faced with that most are oblivious to.

The second dream I saw “clearly through the window”. The window represents “revealed truth, prophecy, revelation, understanding”. I saw the one “man swallowing/eating snake” eat another. This snake swallows and squeezes the breath/air out, leaving its victim unable to breathe in fresh air. This may be a demonic assignment to keep the Spirit of God from moving. One “Daniel in the spirit” friend of ours (Daniel interpreted dreams) suggested that the larger snake could be the antichrist spirit while the smaller snake is deception. Consider these as the Spirit leads.

“Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and our sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perversity. No one calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; they conceive evil and bring forth iniquity. They hatch vipers’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; he who eats of their eggs dies, and from that which is crushed a viper breaks out.” Isaiah 59:1-5

My fleshly attempt to stop the enemy was futile. When I used the “spiritual key” that was in my hand I was able to turn on the POWER that “raised the standard against the enemy”, who attempted to “come in like a flood”.

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

“When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19

The last snake that attacked my feet (my spiritual walk) was warded off by the “friend” that I walk with … JESUS!!!! There is such HOPE in knowing HE is the answer and HE walks beside us to help us in our need. His one blow will break off the attack of the enemy!

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

Arrows of Pain

I know that Mother's Day is a day of remembering the Moms and Father's Day is a day of remembering the Dads and they are wonderful special occasions ... IF ... the family members have hearts of love and appreciation for their Moms and Dads! It is a wonderful day to celebrate and honor, to buy and give, to receive and feel loved. How many people truly respect and honor their Moms and Dads the way the Lord intended? Very few!

I want to speak up for the millions of moms, grandmothers, wives, dads, grandfathers, husbands and more who find that MOTHER'S DAY and FATHER'S DAY TO BE VERY PAINFUL days that they dread because of the disappointment they know will surface once again as they are rejected and NOT honored like those whose families are whole and living with respect towards those that are to be honored on these days. May those of you who do NOT experience these issues in your own lives have compassion upon those who do. Please be sensitive to others around you that are hurting ... they may be in your own family or your friend next door or the person you will see with heaviness on their faces rather than smiles and joy because life is serving them well ... perhaps that lack of joy is because their own Mom or Dad is no longer alive to be celebrated and honored.

Those parents whose children are living with grudges towards them for their own mistakes in rearing them or other issues and mistakes that have surfaced during their adulthood ... find these special days as days they only pray would hurry on by! The day drags on with the hope that any minute the phone will ring with a surprise call from the child that has ignored this day in the past ... wondering to themselves, "Will they ever forgive me for my mistakes and try to love me the way that God intended for children to love and respect their parents in spite of their mistakes? Will they someday love me just a little bit as much as I so truly love them in spite of how they feel I have failed them?"

As nightfall arrives and the clock moves to an hour of "too late to call" the heart is once again beaten down by the load of pain that has blanketed "the hope that the baby that I craddled in my arms many years ago will call" that tried to peek through the heaviness once again this year. But, just like years of the past, there was no call, no card in the mail, nothing .... just the all too familiar wondering, "What could my child have been thinking all day today knowing this day was one that others were celebrating? Did they think of me just a little bit as they went on with their life, as they celebrated their wife or husband, or inlaws, or as their own children honored them? Just wondering with pain hovering still ... pain that doesn't go away .... pain that is tucked away until the next day that comes that celebrates family ... like birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas ... more days that are dreaded rather than looked forward to because of the usual pain that seems to visit so many times each year.

Lord, will you touch the hearts of those who are holding grudges, unforgiveness, judgments, bitterness, rage, anger, and unloving thoughts towards parents and show them that it was YOU who decided who would be their parents ... and it is YOU that inspired the scriptures that command us to forgive ... otherwise, we live with the consequence of not forgiving by living in prisons of torment until we do? It is YOU that instructed in one of your own TEN COMMANDMENTS to honor our parents so that our own lives will be long.

Lord, I ask you to forgive those who use these occasions to shoot arrows into the already hurting hearts of parents as "silent messages" to get back at them for how they feel they had hurt them in the past. Forgive them for shooting arrows that have been tipped into the pain of their past experiences to inflict and further express their disgust, disapproval, disappointment, and more towards parents that failed them in one way or the other. Forgive them for holding onto grudges because it is easier than to express forgiveness and love. Help them to see themselves and the mistakes they have made in rearing their children. Forgive them for their omission in silence, in doing nothing to reach out to their parents. I pray they don't experience the same pain when their day comes to wait for a call, card, or visit from their children. Heal their memories of their parent's shortcomings and help them to understand that those shortcomings were not a measure of their parent's love but perhaps a measure of wrongly coping with life's struggles ... making choices that cannot be corrected, choices made because they were not thinking clearly in the midst of pain or anguish or trying to find love themselves.

Lord, tenderize these hearts and bridge the gaps over the rivers of pain that flood the minds, souls, spirits and hearts of those who are in the midst of this struggle. I ask you for a MOVE of the Holy Spirit upon these children of yours ... to return to YOU and to listen to YOU and to do as YOU have instructed. I thank you for your purposes in allowing this measure of pain and hurt and may it bring your eternal purposes to fruition. If only, Lord, we would ALL show our love to one another every day of the year we would not have need to express it through man's day of special holiday celebrations.

Bring healing, dear LORD ... tenderize our hearts to sympathize rather than criticize, to show compassion towards one another. I ask you for this before the next "special day" that our culture celebrates ... Father's Day next month ... I thank you that your Word says in Malachai that you will send Elijah to restore the hearts ... I ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth ... AMEN and AMEN

One Step Away From High Places

DREAM – 4/22/09

I was an observer … standing to the right of what I observed to my left. I, the messenger, am reporting what I observed.

I saw a "man" (I felt within the dream that the man was "non-gender" in interpretation ... like in the Bible when the term “man” is used). The man was headed out on a long trip up north. I saw the long distance from above the United States as if we were standing in the south and the man’s destination was the north. There was a greater sized "person" standing just beside and behind him encouraging him to take that first step out (I believe this was God). There seemed to be hesitation, possibly fear of the unknown. Then, as the man took that ONE step ... the entire scene SUDDENLY and INSTANTLY CHANGED DRAMATICALLY!!!

I continued to observe from a new position … I was standing and observing the man as he was HIGH UP IN THE SKY in the middle of one of the scariest scenes ever!!!! The BLACK clouds and WILD WIND blowing were like a hurricane. The man was "hanging onto something like a tall pole, hanging on for dear life"! His body was parallel with the ground, yet he was HIGH UP and his entire body was being whipped about by this MIGHTY WIND!!! It was WILD and HORRIFIC!!!! I observed this scene, yet, I KNEW IN THE SPIRIT THAT ALL WOULD BE OKAY!!! I HAD PEACE in the midst of the storm and I had a supernatural knowing that this man was going to reach his destination and all would be okay!!!

I believe this is a word to those in the Body of Christ who are hearing the Lord at their shoulder speaking to them and encouraging them to take a step out in a new direction. This step is “Spirit-led”. The Lord is speaking. Fear is gripping man and trying to hold him captive to the unknown. At the moment man takes that first step out of obedience to the Lord’s call, he will be SUDDENLY thrust into “high spiritual places where the Spirit is moving in wild and mighty ways”. This new spirit-led step/move of the Spirit will be during the darkest of days. The man is “holding on to this pole” that I believe represents him being anchored in the Lord. He did not release his grip, he did not fall, he held on!! I, “the messenger” of this word, observed that he made it through!!!

May this word encourage you to do exactly what the Lord is telling you to do. Your destiny, which seems so far away, will be reached … if you will but take that first step He has spoken to you to do!

“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:21

Missionaries of the Spirit

Last night before going to bed Michael and I had our usual Saturday night discussion .... where shall we go to church tomorrow? Michael began to talk about the Baptist denomination ONCE AGAIN saying how much he misses many aspects of the church. I am not following that stream of thinking at all. He began his search for a church in our city on the internet, finding one in particular that is up the road from our home. When I read about how this minister likes this dessert and another minister likes that one in their write up, I spoke up and declared my disinterest in attending that church! I don't want to just jump into any old church for the sake of "returning to the Baptist church"! Michael closed up shop. He wasn't mad, he just closed up and we headed to bed. The following is the dream I woke up from hours later on Sunday morning …

DREAM – 4/25/09

Michael and I are in a church meeting during worship, standing up close to the front. At one point I reach my right hand out and above one lady's head and the Spirit hit her mightily! Then, the Spirit began to move all over the room ... the pastor, the pastor's wife, others. The pastor was the pastor of First Baptist Irving (this is the church we were members of a few years back for 6 months teaching the college and career coed class on the Holy Spirit. However, I believe this dream represents the BAPTIST denomination as a whole rather than this particular church or pastor).

As many people were being touched by this sudden move of the Spirit I saw the pastor whisper to his wife and then she approached me and whispered into my ear, "Would you be willing to speak if you are called on?" I replied, "Yes". Then, we were standing in the foyer area at a long counter when I see evangelist Steve Hill walk in from the left moving to our right. I whispered into the ear of the pastor's wife, "That man was the evangelist leading the Florida revival where 100,000 were saved!" I knew she didn't know him. The service continued inside and the place was going wild as the Spirit was moving in ways they were not at all used to.

I know how God speaks to Linda. On Saturday nights there is some encounter ... "what to do?". Michael will many times ALSO come up with some WILD STUPID idea (according to Linda). Then, as I begin to ask the Lord, “Do we do that??!!!” … I have a Saturday night dream that unfolds with DIRECTION! I woke from this scenario this morning with a STRONG feeling the Lord may be using Michael to get us back into the Baptist Church … mirroring what Michael typically wants to do and Linda resisting the change!!! So MANY times I resist something like this as it is NOT what Linda wants to do, so God uses dear precious Michael to nudge her, push her, and INSIST continually to do something she does NOT want to do! Why? Because it is GOD behind Michael!!!!

That happened at CFNI after our first year there. I think I have shared this ... we were there in the summer 1999 registering for our Fall classes and standing in line to give our decided schedule to the one at the computer who would input the information to set us up. Michael would NOT LEAVE ME ALONE! "Linda, come on ... take homilectics with me!!" YOU HAVE GOT TO BE CRAZY!!!!! NO WAY!!!!!!! (homiletics is the course where you learn to preach) He would not let up!!! I was in front of him in line when I was the next person to register. "Come on, Linda, take it with me!!!" His pressure pushed me over the edge!!!!!!!! OKAY, ALREADY!!!!!! I signed up for homiletics and within 8 months I was the student selected to PREACH TO THE STUDENT BODY!! My message: Holiness!!! YE GADS!!! So, this is a typical way that God moves Linda forward doing something "STUPID"!!!!! There is a strong possibility that we may be headed back into the Baptist denomination to make a difference in His Spirit moving in this denomination ... “going full circle, taking us back from whence we came”!!!

So, I ask today … what is your personal desire and prayer to the Father that you have been waiting and waiting on Him to answer and wondering WHEN, LORD, ARE YOU GOING TO ANSWER? Are you looking for that "perfect place to minister" or wherever there are like-minded and like-Spirited people seeking to find REVIVAL or the Spirit of God moving in their midst? Ask yourself if you might be one like us who the Lord may want to use to help others break free of religion … “missionaries of the Spirit”! It certainly makes sense that He would take many out of the denominational church, train them in and fill them with the Spirit, and then reestablish them amongst those they left behind … “taking them back from whence they came” … to minister to those who need their help!!

Sometimes God does NOT let us find what we want where we want, so He doesn't give breakthrough where we want to be but where HE HAS WANTED US TO BE ALL ALONG!

Let the Spirit speak what is moving in my spirit this moment!!

The Armadillo and the Lizard

I saw a tall telephone pole with several power lines extending in many directions from the pole. With its back to the pole I saw an armadillo on the power line as if it were going out from the pole. Above the armadillo was a lizard running around at the top of the pole.

I knew when I awoke I had a prophetic dream with a message for the Body of Christ. The following is what I feel the Lord is saying. This is NOT conclusive and remains open to other prophetic interpretation.

I believe the telephone pole represents the “call of God … His message”. The armadillo is a “symbol of the State of Texas and also of prophets”, per my research materials. The armadillo is protected by its armor that is continual. Armadillos are startled by fear and can curl up in a ball to protect itself. Lizards symbolize dreams, foresight and ancient secrets.

I feel this dream is God’s message to the Texas prophets that they will receive powerful prophetic messages through dreams that will in turn bring foresight and revelation of ancient secrets to His purpose and will. This foresight and revelation will take the prophetic ministry to new heights in ways that are not expected and that or unordinary. In Ephesians 6:11,17 the Lord exhorts us to put on the full armor of God, which includes the helmet of salvation. Texas prophets are coming in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring the Body of Christ an important message. To the prophets: Do not shrink back in fear when delivering the message of the Lord.

God said, "Listen to my words: When a prophet of the Lord is among you, I reveal myself to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams.”

Numbers 12:6

“God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7

Wall Street Baseball

Sunday night Michael and I attended our 11 year old grandson’s baseball game near Lake Lewisville. We sat directly behind home plate. Noah’s team was in first place over the weekend tournament with single elimination on Sunday’s games. Noah either plays left field, first base, or he pitches. He was in left field at this particular inning. The score was tied with their opposing team. Several boys on that opposing team were on base when the batter hit the next ball bringing in a runner from third base. The ball was thrown to our team's catcher, who caught it and then reached down to put the runner out at homeplate. The umpire called him out while Michael and I saw that the boy was clearly safe. The next batter hit a ball and the same exact scenario happened once again. A boy was called out when we saw that he too was clearly safe. Our vantage point sitting behind home plate provided us with a postion to judge the call more accurately. The opposing coach approached the umpire to dispute his calls. The umpire stood firm. It didn’t make a difference.

All the while this was going on, the father of our team's pitcher was standing over our shoulders watching closely as his son pitched this inning. He overheard my comments to Michael that the boys were actually safe and commented to me that it was okay the way it worked out because it favored our team. I remarked that it was not right to agree with a bad call that was obviously in our favor. He snapped back, “that’s the way life is!” I told this father that it was not right!

The father totally condoned this action of dishonest gain … “winning at all costs . . . that is the way life is”. After returning home I recalled this scenario and thought about Wall Street and our country’s economy . . . winning at all costs has cost our country their peace and security. It is my prayer that the loss of peace and security in today’s declining economy will be instrumental in leading our country to humble themselves before our almighty God and cry out for His mercy!

Our team lost by one point . . . sending us home. The “game of life” has a lot of unfair moments and is not always played out the way we would want. But, in the end, it is okay if we lose the battle of the flesh here on earth, as long as we are winning the battle and the race set before us of righteous living.

1 Corinthians 9:24 “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”

2 Timothy 4:7“ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Hebrews 12:1 [God Disciplines His Sons] “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

Knee High Water In The House

My DREAM March 9, 2009: I am in my house that is totally filled with water that is knee deep and clear aqua blue, just like our own pool outside. I am standing at the backdoor that faces the outdoor pool to my right. To my left is my granddaughter Kaylee moving around freely in the water. I told her to be careful as the water is still a bit cool to be swimming in. The water temperature was about the same as it is in early Spring.

I believe this dream may represent the level of the “spirit flowing in the HOUSE OF GOD”. Knee deep perhaps symbolizes humility and prayer.

Ezekiel 47:1-5 "Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. 2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side. 3 And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles. 4 Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins. 5 Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.

When Birds Flock Together

On the morning of January 29, 2009 I SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD SOUND … I looked out to see a large flock of birds “congregated” out back by the pool at our Arlington, Texas home. I saw many varieties of birds on the POWER LINE, in the PALM TREE overlooking the POOL, some perched on the FENCE, and others on the ROOF next door. The SOUND was loud and militant!

I saw at least 4 varieties of birds: male/female CARDINALS; male/female BLUE JAYS; male/female ROBINS (red bellies … robins?); and a PLAIN gray variety that I am not familiar with. They were moving TOGETHER. It was a VERY VERY unusual sight that I believe symbolized the many different spiritual giftings within the Church Body. The palm trees were symbolic of Deborah's palm out of the book of Judges. Deborah was a judge and warrior. The birds symbolized the “ARMY OF GOD FLYING (could be a literal interpretation) AND MOVING TOGETHER IN THE SPIRIT … UNITY IN DIFFERENCES ... GRIPPING HIS POWER”!!! Some are in "high places”, some on the "wall (the fence) as Watchmen", some “shouting from the rooftop”, some HIDDEN ONES". There was quite a ROAR OF UNITY coming forth with all the chatter!!!!!! A SIGN!!!!!! The Army of God is RISING! It was SUDDEN and POWERFUL! They moved together!

“ Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.” Ecclesiastes 10:20

There is a pattern I have always seen in the Old Testament when reading stories of God’s people, the Israelites. There was peace in the land until “sin entered the camp” … their sin caused the Lord to allow their enemies to come against them … then His people would begin to cry out to Him for help, His intervention. God would hear HIS children’s cries along with their repentance … and out of His great love and mercy, He would send a deliverer.

The United States of America is saturated in sin. It is time for the Body of Christ to wake up, get involved, pray, reach out beyond our comfort zones and differences, REPENT for our multitude of sins, TURN FROM OUR SINFUL WICKED WAYS, and RETURN TO OUR GOD!!!

There is an ARMY OF BELIEVERS within the borders of our country … a remnant … that need to join together in UNITY to make a LOUD SOUND THROUGH IDENTIFICATIONAL REPENTANCE, INTERCESSION PRAYER, WORHIP, and DECLARING FROM THE ROOFTOPS, MOVING TOGETHER rather than moving out as lone rangers making their own way …. creating a ROAR before our HOLY GOD … crying out to HIM to bring the CHANGE that President Obama banked his political platform on. Yet, may it be a SPIRITUAL CHANGE that will surprise even the President!

Lord, we cry out to YOU …. FORGIVE our nation of our sins … we cry out to YOU to CHANGE THE HEART of our new leader to lead this nation in HOLINESS and RIGHTEOUSNESS before you, our Holy God. Your word in Proverbs 21:1 says that you are able to change the heart of the king just as YOU are able to change the direction of the waterways …. YOU ARE ABLE to turn our country back to YOU.

Father, may we, your people, CRY OUT IN UNISON as we petition you on our behalf to send a Deliverer … JESUS CHRIST … to the hearts of ALL the people and to the leader of our nation! We CRY OUT TO YOU TO CAUSE THIS “PROPHETIC INTERCESSION ROAR” TO AWAKEN YOUR BRIDE, the CHURCH, from her slumber, to come together in ONE VOICE, in all HUMILITY to BOW TO YOU, our ONE GOD, asking you to DELIVER US (U.S.) FROM OUR SINS!
